I prefer to look at all life with a heartbeat as earth inhabitants and show them all respect. If an alien were to arrive here from Betelgeuse III do you think he would see as much difference as we see between someone living in Sudan or a New York city dweller? He would probably observe that a human and a dog has a nose, two eyes and ears. The traveler would observe similarities not differences and certainly would not notice lines drawn in the sand and neither should we.
