First off, the myth that illegals can get public assistance is just that...a myth. They can not receive any kind of public assistance, in fact can not even receive assistance from the Salvation Army, as they have the same requirements as the Federal Government. Illegal means no government issued ID, and no Social Security number...without both of those, they can not receive assistance of any kind. Next, you hit one nail on target. The country they want to immigrate TO gets to choose them. And everything I have heard has been negative towards anyone from Mexico coming here. As for the freedoms...I guess we need to tear down that plaque on the Statue of Liberty, since the sayings there no longer apply. Do you have any idea how the current "lottery" system operates as far as Latin America is concerned? I thought not. If you are from any middle eastern country there is no lottery system. Only Latin Americans are hampered with this....even though they are not threats to the US.dropped by almost 28% since 2007? Or that the number of illegals from India has risen 125%? Those from India are the ones taking high paying jobs in Engineering and Information Technology...and yet everyone is being led to point at the maids, landscapers and waitresses because they are from Mexico. All of the leaders of the Right have this same information available to them...and yet no one hears anything but "Mexican".work and earn whatever they want. The ones from the Socialist societies that DO come here and drain the resources are those from Cuba, for example. But as soon as they touch shore, they are NOT illegals. They are given protected status and green cards. India is also a Socialist leaning country.
