Thanks for the links from climateaudit. I take seriously anything posted by Steve McIntyre. He may not always be correct but he appears to be honest.

McIntyre has some concerns about some adjustment algorithms developed by Menne and his co-author Williams. He did not quantify his concern but suggests that it is possible that there is a small warm bias introduced by their methods. Also, McIntyre did not suggest that the overall trend could be incorrect.

The adjustments by Menne are fairly small compared to the time of observation bias which accounts for about 1/2 of the overall adjustment. Apart from the looney fringe there are no serious issues with tobs adjustments.

Could the adjustment algorithms be further improved? Probably, but they are the best available to date. Further improvements are probably in tenths of degrees at the most.

They play around with the data to get the results they want.
I'll leave you to your delusions.
