the thorn in the EMU may be the French. They sound as if they are stubborn and will drag their feet to the EMU altar. They always like to stand out in a crowd. Witness the French in Quebec - need to separate to establish themselves as a distinct society. The French French will likely follow a similiar path. So until the French are firmly onside the EMU - who knows.

Hi everybody. I'm new to this thread, but not new to investing in gold (well, mutual funds). I actually made a little money in my last foray.
Fortunately, I missed the latest big descent. I keep thinking the price has bottomed and then it goes down some more. Has anybody who is smarter and more knowledgeable than me have an opinion on where the absolute bottom is for the price of gold.
It is still a useful metal and not just for decorating pretty ladies and wedding rings, I believe.
