There is an important distinction which must be made when measuring $/MB:
1. Is the $ inclusive of the system required (computer) to support the subsystem (storage array)?
2. Is the MB measured "raw" or "file system" size (raw less overhead for RAID, spares, and drive formatting)?

I am only offering this as a point of discussion, not to be argumentative., though that is odd for this thread.
