You can have open immigration. You can run a welfare state. You cannot have both (and survive).

Almost all Conservatives realize immigration built American and lead to greatness. Liberals muck it up by saying illegal immigration is OK, known criminals or enemy combatants should be welcomed and American civil rights should be extended to all of these people. So, yes.

Gay marriage is not a Conservative issue, it is a religious one. Conservative do not care about gays any more than they care about heteros. The issue comes from the fact that the Catholic Church does not allow gay marriage and Liberals don't like that. Liberals want to force Churches to perform gay marriage, and Conservatives say this is not right. Forcing people in the church to do something they believe is wrong is not right. It infringes on their rights. Get it?

Do the majority of them refer to Hispanics as "Mexicans" in a derogatory way?
No, the majority do not. Period. "Mexicans" are just fine to Conservatives. Illegal immigrants are not. Some people definitely let the rhetoric get away on them, but that does not make one bit of difference to legal "Mexican" immigrants.
Are they FOR Pro-Choice?
Some are, most are not. This does not in any way define liberal vs. conservative. Are you pro-murder? Many people consider abortion to be the murder of an infant child. Once again, Conservatives seem to prefer to err on the conservative side and choose not to end a life when the evidence is gray. Liberals are more concerned the with the woman's right to choose (something she had exercised multiple times prior to and during the act of conception) than they are with the rights of the baby.

Are they FOR reforming our criminal justice system
Damn right. Just not in such a way as to make it easier to commit crimes without repercussion. Society has determined what is legal and what is not. We can debate those points as much as we like. However, law enforcement is charged with dealing with those that commit that which is called a crime. Rehab instead of punishment? Unfortunately rehab doesn't work the way you want it to. If it did, then things would be different. And prisons wouldn't be so full now would they.

are Conservatives by and large FOR immigration? Most conservatives have no problem with LEGAL immigration. Personally I resent the equating of legal immigration and illegal entry.

Do the majority of them refer to Hispanics as "Mexicans" in a derogatory way? Baloney. Do you think if there were no Mexicans in the country illegally, conservatives would be okay with illegal entry?

At one time decades ago, most illegal entrants came in to work temporarily, make some money and go home. Democratic governed cities began declaring themselves sanctuary cities, forbidding police, schools, and other agencies from recognizing illegals, giving them .... encouraging people to bring families and stay permanently creating a permanent class of illegal residents. That's what made the problem get out of control. Now they've got people like you thinking there's a human right to enter the country illegally and stay here forever and be granted citizenship. This is creating and stoking division.

This sounds like you just got off the turnip truck.....How can any thinking being even think your statements are anything close to accurate....

Boy. you are truly sheltered if you believe any of that......

One thing conservatives do believe.....FOLLOW the Law of the land....and if they don't like something, we do our best to have it changed.....Almost none of the true conservatives have EVER been on the other side of the law.

For instance, someone said this earlier....Conservatives are FOR LEGAL immigration. I personally help some of them learn to read better, and just went to an immigration ceremony within the last two months. We are NOT for lawbreaking ILLEGAL immigrants who do NOT have permission to be here.

But...are Conservatives by and large FOR immigration?
No.
Are they FOR gay marriage?
No.
Do the majority of them refer to Hispanics as "Mexicans" in a derogatory way?
Yes. .(Listen to Mark Levin, one of the mouthpieces.)
Are they FOR Pro-Choice?
No.
Are they FOR reforming our criminal justice system, reducing the numbers incarcerated and using rehabilitation instead of punishment?
No.

These are all social issues where I differ from Conservatives and in fact are more Left. (While I personally think abortion is murder, I do not think it is my responsibility to legislate someone else's morality on the issue.)
