Re: green card :

- Actually what is called the Green Card, was Pink in Color (not sure if thats still true)
- It used to be called a "Resident Alien" card.
- These days, I belive its called a "Permanent Resident" card.

The bottom line with that card is -
- u can leave and enter the US at will, without INS (as it was called) paperwork
- u can work for any employer of your choice (work visas like H1/L1visas restrict that choice)
- If u show u have lived in the US for a major portiion of 5 years after Green Card, u may apply for citizenship.
- The citizenship process is not easy, despite what many may say,
- If successful, u become a US citizen - timeframe approx 12-18 months, when I applied.
