So, what?

Where you work, does the company spend money on advertising or management salaries? If you worked on a billion dollar project do you think it would be a good idea to take it to market without advertising or spending the money to get excellent top management comprised of people with excellent track records?

You guys are just not in touch with reality.

About 7 to 10 percent of sales are spent on R&D by Big Pharma.
That figure cannot include the $1.2B it takes on average to get FDA approval.

I'm pretty sure advertising is a huge chunk of the expenses, perhaps the largest chunk, but that is still driven by the need to recoup the costs to research drugs and win approval.
