You said: "Racism is prejudice or discrimination directed against someone of a different race." Really, this is something like I thought you would say. But it's completely wrong. This view is also why you refused to give me a yes or a no on my previous question. You don't think it's racism to act on one's own race's behalf. So if white people decide to hire only white people, that isn't racist? If black people decide to hire only black people, that isn't racist? If hispanic people decide to hire only hispanic people, that isn't racist? Now you can understand why I claimed you don't understand what racism is. Your faulty view of racism makes you make bad decisions about it, and on it. Racism is actually more evil than you understand it to be. If you don't automatically reject my definition of racism, you have the chance to better understand it from this moment on. Definition: Racism is actions or decisions based on race . If one acts or decides, for or against any race, including one's own, based on race, then one is a racist. If one's actions or decisions are NOT based on race, then one is not a racist. Many of your decisions or actions according to what you've written ARE based on race. You think you can make up for the past sins of racism, but you can't. No one can. When you grant favor to someone because of race, you are hurting the one who had legitimate favor (as in, the one who could do the best job). The best way to stop racism is first not to be a racist. The only way to do that is to understand what it is. To harm an innocent because some other innocent was harmed is simply revenge. Revenge begets revenge. Racism begets racism. It has to stop now, within each of us.
