Why should we give work visas for unskilled labor when we have so many permanent illegal residents? Maybe if there weren't so many illegals already in the country, there could be a guest worker program for such folks. Assuming we needed them.

There are none for unskilled labor, ...

BTW I seem to recall you've said there were no terrorists who'd come across the southern border. That isn't correct:

Three of the six conspirators in the 2007 Fort Dix attack plot—Dritan Duka, Shain Duka, and Eljvir Duka—were ethnic Albanians from the Republic of Macedonia who entered the United States illegally through Mexico with their parents in 1984.
Per Wikipedia

You said: (Colleges in Mexico are some of the best in the world, according to world opinion, with some ranked in the top 10.)

It's a very natural instinct to post things that support one's point of view. However, again, I see no link to support that statement.

In a 2012 ranking of world universities.....

shanghairanking.com

.....I could find none in the top 200 from Mexico.

I grant that methodology in ranking colleges and universities can be quite varied. Here is a description of the methodology used in compiling that list by the ARWU, Academic Ranking of World Universities:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Selection of Universities ARWU considers every university that has any Nobel Laureates, Fields Medalists, Highly Cited Researchers, or papers published in Nature or Science. In addition, universities with significant amount of papers indexed by Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) are also included. In total, more than 1200 universities are actually ranked and the best 500 are published on the web.

Ranking Criteria and Weights Universities are ranked by several indicators of academic or research performance, including alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, highly cited researchers, papers published in Nature and Science, papers indexed in major citation indices, and the per capita academic performance of an institution. For each indicator, the highest scoring institution is assigned a score of 100, and other institutions are calculated as a percentage of the top score. The distribution of data for each indicator is examined for any significant distorting effect; standard statistical techniques are used to adjust the indicator if necessary. Scores for each indicator are weighted as shown below to arrive at a final overall score for an institution. The highest scoring institution is assigned a score of 100, and other institutions are calculated as a percentage of the top score. An institution's rank reflects the number of institutions that sit above it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the other hand, perhaps you meant exactly what you said....."colleges" as distinct from "universities".

Again, you asserted that there was no immigration for Hispanics. It is very clear that millions of Hispanics, millions more than any other group, have gotten green cards for permanent legal residence in the United States over the last 20 years. That means you're wrong.

Then you switch bait and say you're talking about work visas. Work visas are for non-permanent residents, not "immigrants." Work visas are issued for temporary work in the United States based on federal estimations of labor force needs, not based on how many ethnic groups we need to import as permanent legal residents.

You are confused and wrong, a very bad combination.

In what fantasy land? top 10 narco-universities? Any global top 10 list I have seen has 7-8 American schools, Cambridge, Oxford and sometimes a French school.
