I know, it is ridiculous. It is because the Christian right and neo cons have been doing our planning instead of liberals for over 30 years. Lee Atwoods southern strategy worked great! The mindless south has been running the country. E.G. take a few issues. Liberals would never have had such draconian drug laws and pot would have been legal 40 years ago if liberals were running the country. So that would cut the prison population in half or more. We let Nancy (brain dead) Reagan determine drug policy? We would probably have little debt today. Free education and universal health care. A defense department 25% of what it is today. Strong unions and a strong middle class. Very few guns and much less gun deaths. Much stronger society and healthy social structure because of implementation of social science. Massive green energy and recycling. Much better pollution controls.
