No, I have never been to the Zócalo. Have you ever been to Cuautla in Morelos in the mountains? It is around 75 degrees there year-round. Beautiful area. I find Quintana Roo to be way too hot and humid - even though it is right there at the Mexican Caribbean, and is also beautiful for their beaches and Mayan temples. And the border areas are just plain cesspools where the flotsam of poor gather prior to trying to cross over. Monterrey is also beautiful too, but it is pretty well industrialized, as is Toluca, Mexico's version of Detroit. The wages in Toluca actually allow them to have a pretty decent living there. What a lot of people here also don't understand is that everything does not cost pennies in Mexico either. A house in Cuautla costs about the same as what one does here. And the utilities are pretty much the same as well, with phone service being a little more expensive. Computers are a lot more expensive, even in the Walmart there, due to the import fees charged by the Mexican Government. Fresh food is a lot cheaper though. You ever go to any of the markets there and try the tacos, quesadillas and other foods?

Once again...what is in the center of almost every single town and city in Mexico? This you should know if you really have traveled there.
