Quake 2 is a very hot item indeed. Every computer game maker could only wish for a reputation that id software has.
There is no other game that is as eagerly anticipated as this one. I could remember when Mortal Combat first came out and lines were made outside the stores to buy it and Akklaim's stock price hit an all time high. I see the same situation here. This may ultimately be the "Elmo" of this Christmas season. You will definitely see this one on CNN.

As for units sold there is a big possibility that this game will outsell the first one by a far margin for the fact there is no shareware version. Activision is relying on the Quake name to sell Quake 2. Gamers will have to buy the CD because the game needs the CD to run off of. From what i've heard the game itself is 400 mb. Far too big to reside on a HD.

The price of Activision could rise significantly when the numbers do prove themselves after the Christmas season.
Possible 30's by mid next year.

Bob,i believe the word "Aquisitions" was used. GTIS and MPRS
backed out of their merger today. I may be dreaming but i think
they are going after MPRS.MPRS does alot of business in Europe,
maybe it's just a coincedence but didn't ATVI just buy those
European distribution companys? i hope they go for it.
