I'm not a lawyer, thankfully, but it seems to me that you'd have a pretty tough time winning a lawsuit contesting what amounts to "buyer beware", or perhaps even "planned obsolescence". Can I sue an auto dealer if they sell me a new or used car that does not meet EPA emission guidelines that will be in effect two years later, in 2000? I doubt it. Why should software be any different?
