you do know that if you take the blacks out of the stats we have the same gun murder rates as sweden and canada. you know that right ?

Hi bentway; Re the murder statistics for Alaska, Alabama and Mississippi versus Hawaii, Massachussets and Rhode Island, there's something you're not telling us here: White + Oriental race percentages: High murder regions: Alaska: 67.7% Alabama: 70.5% Mississippi: 60.0% US Average: 77.4% Low murder regions: Hawaii: 73.3% (plus lots of "mixed") Massachusetts: 84.1% Rhode Island: 84.4% (1) Banning guns in Alaska, Alabama and Mississippi isn't going to make them non violent. We'll still have high murder rates there. (2) As a matter of politics, you have no way of disarming Alaska, Alabama or Mississippi. Same with the rest of the high gun ownership states. Might as well move on to something you can do. -- Carl
