The South saw that a successful system of plantation economy was being doomed by irresponsible policy imposition by the North. "A successful plantation economy" based on human slave labor. The extent of your biases are only exceeded by your ignorance and insensitivity. Unfortunately they were also willing to deny that same to a whole race of people and were unable to see the inherent contradiction in their cause. Apparently, a minor point in your mind...........nothing of real concern in the overall picture.
