Limbaugh talked about this today:

Let's give Romney 70% [of the hispanic vote]. Surely that would have meant victory, right? No, it wouldn't. Romney still would have lost, although by the narrowest of electoral margins: 270 to 268.

Yet, when they get here, instead of appreciating the value of free market capitalism, they vote for socialism. Why? No seriously, try and answer that question. Why do they vote for far left wing socialists in far greater numbers?
I was asking myself the same question, many times. Why would immigrants come to a better place - and try to make the new place like the one from which they escaped.

You can get a chap out of a corrupt place, but you can't get the corrupt place out of him....

I have been trying to explain this. This comment can explain it much better, as it is more representative of the few members of the Republican party as perceived by Hispanics which is coloring the overall view of the party:
"The border ??ggers really stand for nothing other than getting gubbment gibes me dat from Whitey. There's no "hispanics", it's just a bunch of non-white mestizos that should be removed from our country."
That is from someone who identifies themselves as "Rebel Republican", and demonstrates one of the reasons.
Recent tracking polls of Latino registered voters show that they are most concerned about job creation and fixing the economy. Immigration reform ranks second in importance, followed closely by education and health care.

That is not saying that Latino voters are unconcerned about the ongoing prosecution and deportation of undocumented immigrants; you cannot separate the concerns of Latino citizens from those of illegal immigrants. Many families include legal citizens and undocumented aliens, and according to a 2011 ImpreMedia-Latino Decisions poll, 53 percent of registered Latino voters know someone who is here and undocumented, and 25 percent know someone who has faced detention or deportation for immigration reasons.

Even U.S.-born Latinos are not indifferent to the problems of undocumented immigrants. Polls show a strong consensus among Latino voters for reform that provides an earned pathway for legalization and possible citizenship.

Hispanics of Cuban and Venezuelan descent are much more likely to support Republicans, with polls showing 69%. As both of those countries are Socialist (I think everyone will agree on that), you can see it has nothing to do with socialism. And Cubans are granted asylum as soon as they reach America with the "feet dry" policy, and there is no "illegal alien" issue for them.
