DENTAL DRILL SALES DROPPING?

I had a conversation this week with a dental practice who purchased PLSIA's dental drill. They have spent a good bit of money promoting the painless laser aspect, but have yet to see significant results. In fact the dental drill is not coming close to paying for itself. They have had it for about 3 months and have been promoting it for about 5 months (the company promised them it would be delivered months earlier than the actual delivery date).

But not only is the dental drill not bringing patients in like some on this board claimed it would, they find the equipment unreliable due to fiber problems, and set-up for each procedure takes as much time as using a traditional hand drill. Thus no time savings. Just a big monthly bill for a piece of equipment that so far has not produced a profit.

With their experience, they did not recommend me to purchase one. I take that to mean they don't think it ever will produce them a profit, but who knows =).

Interesting -- just about exactly the results myself and other dentists on this board predicted. Still wonder why PLSIA isn't telling you what the sales backlog is for the dental drill ?

Sometimes it pays to listen to objective viewpoints, and not get lost in greedy expectations from the HYPE.

Cheers Steve
