Nothing will change that, as long as ignorance pervades.

Looks like we may be in it for the duration. The public, especially interest groups, have already learned that they can vote themselves various goodies and benefits; the politicians have learned that accommodating those wishes is the road to power. Many among the Republicans right now are in a panic, and think that the way back into the big office is to out-kiss-up the Democrats. But - they can't simply come out and beat the masters of the game. They will fail.

The current path is... unconstructive, and things will continue to deteriorate - maybe a la Ayn Rand. Looks like the US and probably the world are due to enter an unusually trying period.
