Kids will forever play football for the same reason they will always sign up to fight for their country: glory. No other HS sport comes close to drawing not just the students, but also the town, not to mention people from all over the state. The alumni love it and proudly support the teams. It's the only sport with an opinion-based Top 10 where people love to debate who belongs where. The trade-off of course is severe injury, but just like in the military, though you know the risks, you focus on the rewards. If your kid becomes a wounded warrior, of course you lament, but for reasons better left to psychiatrists, you still feel proud of him. To Americans, it invokes the same passion for watching the game as soccer does to those overseas. I don't see that disappearing anytime soon despite the lawsuits.

Not even close......but the Brewers are if we don't figure out a way to beat the Cards!

Braun needs to give Ricky Weeks a bottle of that deer antler
