BO, don't know if anyone has responded about 3COM.

Here is part of what could be happening...

Intel is kicking their a--! Intel now has equal the market
share in networking chips as 3COM. 3COM has had tremendous
quality problems with their new 10/100MBit Ethernet offerings.
Plus, they've been slow to deliver new product. Intel is
a few steps ahead now offering NIC chips whith the physical
layer integrated onto one piece of silicon. Translation:
3COM solution requires 2 chips at a higher cost than Intel's
1 chip solution and Intel's performs better.

Anyway, I believe it's a 3COM execution issue rather than
a harbinger of doom for PC sales.
