there has been a massive wealth concentration in the hands of fewer and fewer Americans since Reagan Absolutely. 40+ years ago a bread winner who was working class could easily support a middle class lifestyle. Technology, globalization and trickle down economics plus skyrocketing costs of education, housing, health care and transportation well over 30 years running. Only hope for J6P today is buy up and leverage distressed RE in beaten up markets to build real solid equity and cash flow over time. Unfortunately most will continue swimming against the incoming tide deluded into thinking that even if they work hard and buy 'stuff' to substantiate their 'success' they can achieve the american dream. In the very high cost markets with high paying jobs like where Chinu lives even if the jobs situation improves it is going to be tough to get ahead if you aren't there already....Debt slavery out of the gate via your $700k mortgage and $200k student debt a very tough hurdle.
