GZ - I think it's very likely the Fed may lower rates. Warren Buffett does too! As long as productivity remains so high, the Fed can tolerate low unemployment rates. Just think if they did raise rates: (1) It would strengthen the US$ (2) It would cause the Hong Kong$ to strengthen (3) Most other Asian economies are letting their currencies float (4) This would cause even more turnmoil over there (5) which would be counter productive to the IMF bailout in South Korea. I believe the IMF (and the US), for the best interest of all, want stability in the Asian region, therefore, I believe it is highly likely that the Fed will lower rates! Skipper
