“This bill will affect the big boys, retailers like Amazon and eBay ... it does not affect these small retailers,” Durbin said in a Senate speech.
What's funny is that I heard on a talk radio station that Durbin said he didn't pay sales tax on his online purchases and the bill would collect them. My understanding is that residents of IL if they bought on the net and didn't get charged the tax by law are supposed to pay them come tax time.

Sounds as though it's just another political stunt. I suppose bricks & mortar small businesses are more likely to vote for those who support the bill. It's another horse & buggy mfrs fighting the model T situation.
