Alex, I am not football illiterate, I just think it is a tremendous waste of time and money. A huge part of our school budgets are spent on this stupidity, while at the same time there seems to be no money for science equipment. We now have 19 coaches at our high school. The 2 main football coaches teach no classes and have no other duties, because the school board wants them to be totally committed to developing a winning team. I watch no football games, and make it a point to go out when the super bowl is on to see how many other sane people are left. Del

Actually, I was plying the guilt-by-association angle. The 49'ers do and have had an outstanding team for many a year now. While nobody can be absolutely sure, I'd say they'll probably be one of the teams in this years Super Bowl championship game. The rest is a toss up. If I really wanted to drive a spike into an ego, I'd trash the Cowboys using the same tactic of abuse, but I'm really trying hard to like Texicans, which is probably why my teeth have such a fondness for my tongue in recent weeks. Why cause trouble, it seems trouble is the only lasting impression one remembers(general statement). Actually, were it not for the fact that S.J. participates in a weekly football pool at work, I probably wouldn't have even known about last weeks trouncing of the 49'ers by the Chiefs. She won two pools last year, and...AND the pool for most games won throughout the season. She isn't doing to well this year. She has only won one pool so far, and is pretty much out of it for the over-all. You do know I live in the Ozarks, don't ya? There was a joke running around the area during the O.J. trial. It was something to the affect that if O.J. had been born in the area and commited the crime in the same area, the prosecutors could never have used DNA as a determinate factor because all the DNA is similiar. Of course, Arkansans would refer to Missourians when telling the joke, and vice versa when Missourians would tell it. It couldn't be further from the truth regarding either state considering most of the people which now live in the area are from somewhere else due to the property taxes being much lower than other states.
