Where do you get these ideas? It is an amazing world of misinformation you live in.Kids learn to read and write, hang up their coats, learn their colors , socialization and and on and on in pre school.Take two equal IQ kids with and without pre school and the one without it stands no chance. Hard to give up 2.5 years of education. And when the kid with pre school gets into kindergarten and is so far ahead of the others, the teachers will dote on them. Unfair but true.

My son was teaching me my colors long before he got to pre-school (I am color blind, so he got very frustrated that I didn't know my colors).

And my son went to a very prestigious pre-school. His classmates were the kids of Will Smith and Omar Epps. And guess what, it was still glorified child care. Sure, it was great at learning socialization skills, but that takes about a week in kindergarten.

Other than the child care aspect of pre-school, the biggest benefit is that the kids are comfortable in a classroom environment when they get to kindergarten. But then again, pretty much all kids get over this hurdle within a couple of days.

If you ever spent any time in a pre-school, you would know that what I am saying is true. You don't need a fancy liberal arts professor to tell you what is obvious with one's own observation.

my older son had some speech issues so at 2 1/2 -3 or so we took him to a free evaluation at the local public school.

after a couple of minutes the evaluator comes storming out of the room screaming "i've got to get the principle'

they both come back all upset saying, he knows the complete alphabet and in order I had him file for papers and he got everyone right even if the first two letters were the same he went to the third letter.

they started screaming at us ' you are pushing him to hard, we are gonna call child protection service on you.

that was the last time my kids ever stepped into a public school

so how good would your pre schools be ? it will just be a child care propaganda center where the teachers would wear democrats are good republicans bad tee shirts
