I just love PR people--they dream up the cleverest spin that makes stupidity sound sagacious--

Hospitals said they support efforts to simplify an overly complex medical billing system and arm consumers with more information. The California Hospital Assn. agreed, but warned that the newly available federal data "may confuse patients as well as the public."

A single payer system is the only way to go in a country like ours with so much absurd spin and secrecy that it is amazing that we all don't suffer from the worst vertigo.

EDIT: Actually, we do suffer mightily from vertigo, but it is mental vertigo and the symptom is the nausea that we feel when confronted with statements like the one above as well as many others from politicians and businessmen who love to shave corners, cover their tracks, privatize profits and socialize losses as well as all negative externalities.
