John Petzinger, I know someone out there remembers the wafer capacity per month I seem to recall 6000 per month. @ $2,500.00 x three months that $45,000,000. So 50 mill addition cost isn't too far off. AMD could have broke even against the intel price cuts but not the price cuts and the productin problem combined. The questin now is how much weekness they are experiencing in the other products like flash, DPS and eprom. Altera already signaled for EPROM, but Altera weekness may ahve come from AMD's new product lineup. So far nothing has been said.
