I think a lot of Democrats see Bush's election as a kind of personal FU to them.

".....that set America on a quest for someone, something DIFFERENT, that Obama would never have been elected."

Aside from his politics, what is it about Obama that makes him DIFFERENT?

I think a lot of Republicans see Obama's election as a kind of personal FU, from all Democrats to them. Not only throwing a (D) president in their face, but a BLACK (D) president!

Never thought of it that way. For me he was the best presidential candidate in 2-3 decades........better even than Clinton.

They totally ignore that, were it not for the totally failed presidency of Bush, that set America on a quest for someone, something DIFFERENT, that Obama would never have been elected.

I'd like to think he would have been elected anyway but you're probably right.
