The dependence on government Democrats rely on today is nothing but slavery. It keeps people enslaved to government, poverty and the Democrat party. When someone is able to escape and tells the rest of the slaves how great freedom is, they are labeled a house n@#$%r. Dr. Ben Carson is a great example.

Democrat policies and programs are fundamentally racist.
How so?

If a program or policy mentions race, then it is racist. Example, Affirmative action. The intentions may be "good", but when they come from a bad place (i.e. racist), the long term effect is going to be negative. You can't cure racism with racism.

Nonsense. You are making up rules that only you get to establish and apply. And that is one of the fundamental problem with Rs.............they operate in their own form of reality.

I understand that Byrd is the go to Dem for most Rs when trying desperately to make the point that Dems are racist. However, what Rs seem to forget is that Byrd was one of the few dixiecrats that didn't jump ship to join the Rs under Nixon's Southern Strategy. That's when the GOP became the big tent for American racists.

Byrd is not the only example. Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Clinton, Obama, Biden, Reid...they have all made public racist comments. You have seen the quotes...you know they are out there.

No I haven't seen those quotes. Feel free to post them to me.

But what really matters is that the democrat programs and policies that intend to "help" minorities assume that the minorities are not good enough to succeed on their own. They send a message that they (the minorities) need to be taken care of (supporters of slavery made the same arguments). These programs and policies that make minorities dependent on government also rob the individuals of their dignity. And this prolongs the dependency cycle and, in fact, makes it worse.

Apparently, you don't think discrimination exists in this country..........a common, wrong headed theme among Rs. Its the only way you can come to your conclusions up above.

Showing surprise that a person of color votes for the GOP when its shown over and over again that the GOP doesn't work for that person's best interest isn't racism.......its simply showing surprise at some people's stupidity and state of denial. Its like giving more money to a friend or relative when history shows that friend or relative never pays back the loan. Some people just don't understand what's in their best self interest

Your example is actually one that I should have used. All of the big cities that have the most minority poverty are run by democrats. They are in states that vote overwhelmingly democrat. The democrats have failed minorities over and over again. And yet, minorities vote for democrats over and over again. And why? because they translate free stuff from the government into "this is in my best interest". And of course, it is obvious that this is definitely not the case.

Its a problem..........but I wouldn't jump too quickly on the fact that Dem programs have not worked. Over the past 3 decades, many Dem programs have been dismantled by Rs. The number of people who need welfare but don't get it has increased. In the mean time, the 1% have watched their wealth grow dramatically again thanks to Rs. The economic pie is not unlimited........with increasing wealth flowing to the rich, someone has to suffer and those who suffer most are minorities in this country:

Nonetheless, there has been some improvement............there is a Black middle class that is growing in fits and starts................and blacks know who has helped make that possible [read: not Rs]:

History of black middle class in the United States

African Americans had limited opportunities for advancement to middle class status prior to 1961 because of racial discrimination, segregation, and the fact that most lived in the rural South. In 1960, forty-three percent of the white population completed high school, while only twenty percent of the black population did the same. African Americans had little to no access to higher education, and only three percent graduated from college. Those blacks who were professionals were mainly confined to serving the African American population. Outside of the black community, they worked in unskilled industrial jobs. Black women who worked were almost all domestic servants.

Economic growth, public policy, black skill development, and the civil rights movement all contributed to the surfacing of a larger black middle class. The civil rights movement helped to remove barriers to higher education. As opportunity for African Americans expanded, blacks began to take advantage of the new possibilities. Homeownership has been crucial in the rise of the black middle class, including the movement of African Americans to the suburbs, which has also translated into better educational opportunities. By 1980, over 50% of the African American population had graduated from high school and eight percent graduated from college. In 2006, 86% of blacks between age 25 and 29 had graduated from high school and 19% had completed a bachelor's degrees. [12] As of 2003, the percentage of black householders is 48%, compared to 43% in 1990. [13]

Rise and decline of middle class blacks

The rise to the middle class for African Americans throughout the 1960s, however, leveled off and began to decline in the following decades due to multiple recessions that struck America throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Blacks and other lower-class groups suffered the brunt of those recessions. [14] In addition, with beliefs in " reverse racism" prevailing, aiding programs that were enacted during the U.S. Civil Rights Movement to improve the state of the black community began being heavily opposed and overturned by the late 1970s and into the 1980s. There is also evidence to suggest the wealth gap has been exacerbated by the housing market bubble in 2006 and the recession that followed from late 2007 to mid-2009, which took a far greater toll on depleting minority wealth. [15]

Challenges of the black American middle class

Empirical evidence demonstrates that blacks have less upward mobility than whites. A report done by the Pew Research Center in 2007 says that of the sons and daughters of the black middle class, 45% of black children end up "near poor", and the comparable rate for white families is 16%. [16] The trend of downward mobility has caused the overall majority of middle-class-black children to end up with lower incomes than their parents. While 68% of white children earn incomes above their parents, 31% of black children earn incomes more than their parents did. [16] The lower rate of upward mobility could be caused by the lack of married blacks, and the number of blacks born out of wedlock. In 2009, 72% of black babies were born out of wedlock, compared with 28% of white women. [17]

How about the email showing watermelons growing outside the White House lawn? How about images depicting the FLOTUS and her daughters looking like gorillas? Here's just a few of the many racist incidents/expressions that have occurred by Rs over the past 4 years.........there are many more but I think you get the point:

You are confusing points. You claim that showing Obama as a zombie is racist. Which is absurd. You then equate a gun show with the NRA, which is also absurd. You then ignore that there are hundreds of examples of Bush and Reagan portrayed as zombies. If you had stated "there are people who vote republican who are racists", then I wouldn't have an argument. There definitely are, just like there are people who are democrats who are blatant racists. But you were stating that there are national organizations that represent the GOP that are putting out racist messages. And this is where your case falls apart.

Look. Enough BS. Obama's election has brought white Rs latent racism to the surface in a very ugly way...........I have given you more than enough examples to prove that point. You want to believe otherwise......be my guest. But most people know the truth. Its time Rs outgrew their racism..........there is no room for it in 21st century America.
