I can believe almost anything. Anyway, ammo is hard to come by.

Despite denials from the Obama Administration, the evidence is strong that it is in fact DHS stockpiling of ammo that is primarily responsible for the shortage. If a few manufacturers were to invest heavily in increased production capacity the DHS stockpiling would most likely cease immediately. DHS might even dump rounds on the market to try to bankrupt them.
