John, In the same vane as the retweet phenomena: I have been mulling over the idea that despite what we all know about the illusions of the system, despite that we all know what is happening, the machines do not really know or care. They are primarily doing standardly accepted analyses of the market, and are moving funds accordingly. They don't know its pretty much a sham, and they can not really care that they are being deceived by the fact that a lot of money out there is just electronic balances that people have chosen to accept, despite the fact, wink, wink, nod, nod, you know what I mean, that the premises on which those balances are based are false.

So...for the past few years the investment camp of knowledgeable people has been divided into those who see the truth and pull back, and those who see the truth and laugh and are to screw with it, and ride the wave, of the machines, despite the fact that they know its an insane Casino....because its been easier than counting cards....the ultimate 'the trend is your friend' is the small army of programs that guide the markets.

Of course the first group of investors has done less well, and the second has been on a constant roll. The question is how long can the machines be fooled, and what happens when either they inadvertently strike upon the truth, they learn to outwit the savvy real investors, or something really weird happens and they start to feed on each other.

Its an explanation for why when you know the facts, understand the economics, see the hokum and smoke and mirrors, that things just keep going on as if nothing has changed.
