You just mean they're not doing the surgery. They're doing hormonal blocking in preparation for eventual sex reassignment surgery as you yourself posted.

It is a highly abstract (perhaps the most abstract) thought process for a five-year old to entertain. To suggest that at that age a person can even begin to comprehend how this could be, the implications of gender identity problems, or cogently differentiate these "feelings" -- that's ridiculous.
