There is often a judgment that desiring material comfort is a bad thing, avarice being one of the deadly sins. IMO the most objectionable attribute of the uberwealthy is wanting to dominate the game and get everything by multiples that are beyond simple avarice. If I want a 100,000 bananas a day, it isn't that I'm hungry.

That, to me, uberwealth is more about being power-hungry than simply wanting wealth. I believe that a guy who finds a 10 carat diamond can be happy with his good fortune. He might want to share it but it is okay to be happy and feel good about the money he has. He doesn't have to give it all away to be kind and generous.
