Accede to consumer demands or even the paranoid won't survive.

Intel has been forced to enter the sub-$1,000 and over $500 PC market by Compaq better marketing and Cyrix superior technology. The selling price of the best-selling Intel processors has been switching from $350 to $150 or less in less than 18 months. It also means that Intel could rip at most $50 from end users for each Intel processors in 1998 instead of $250 during '93 and '96. How could Intel maintain its margin? Short INTC!

Thanks the news link by Brian in AMD thread!

I think Intel owns stock/warrants in PBell as well.

So PB is in big trouble, they have a s**** qaulity reputation and now with Compaq relentlessly exploding into the home market they are being squeezed big time.

If these guys were public they would be a great short.
