The smaller the halibut the better it tastes

i think so too... and the easier it is to prepare
'cause you're working with a nice slender filet
as opposed to a chunck of quivering flesh. :)

I was not sure how far south the big halibut go and have never been able to find out e.g. can they be caught off Washington?

oh yeah, there are huge ones out around Neah Bay & Sekiu
