P,
Re -- Lets see, that would be 120,000 per day, 43.8M for 1998, at CPU price of $160 and CPU cost of $30, thats 5.7 Billion profit in '98 -- just from Walmart! ;-)

Remember AMD and Cyrix are forced to rethink their strategies!! This may be the best news of all. AMD abandoning the CPU business.

John,

Lets see, that would be 120,000 per day, 43.8M for 1998, at CPU price of $160 and CPU cost of $30, thats 5.7 Billion profit in '98 -- just from Walmart! ;-)

So, where could Intel go if Wal-Mart keeps on selling AMD and Cyrix system at this flow speed?

I guess that Intel would have to relayout their roadmap from above $500 to above $200 on their "lean" NC once Acer's $199 Kid XCs hit Wal-Mart shelves during 2Q/98.

I got to increase my ACER position. :)
