Their culture makes me sick. You would have thought that the witnesses would, at minimum, rifle through his pockets for loose change. Multiple witnesses can handle one man with a knife. I have a friend who took down a hostage taker who had a crossbow as police waited for a negotiator to show. ..news reports have the guy arrested, but no name or age... They just thought the perps were on official business from the Obamacare death panel... This is our future. Sadly, if a witness(es) intervenes and stops/subdues the perp, he/she is rewarded a week or two later with a lawsuit from the perp. Sadly, that is what this country has come to. Detroit. End of story. I have never understood the propensity to loiter in large packs like that...They're waiting for targets of opportunity. My theory as to why crime has skyrocketed since the 1960's is the implementation of housing assistance, food stamp and cash welfare programs. These programs mean that families no longer have to work to pay the bills. What's worse is that recipients don't have to maintain crime-free records to remain eligible. A fair number turn to crime to obtain the extras. But some of it is pure boredom. Without anything to do all day, some occupy their time with video games and TV, whereas others turn to attacking people for fun and profit.
