Dear Bob:

Proverbs 13:22

"A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous".

So a good man will bless his grandchildren and his children in his will, and leave a legacy of love. It sure is hard for Christians to live a victorious life without financial blessings. I really have to admit that the main purpose of this thread may be to bless those in the kingdom first. Then as we are blessed so will others be also.

My philosophy has always been to give and return from your abundance not your scaricity.

In Christ, who supplies all of my riches by Christ Jesus, we truly serve an abundant God.

Oh, I'm on the east coast and ski at Snowshoe, Silvercreek, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain ect. have you ever tried southern skiing ?

With the advent of mammouth snow making equipment and quad lifts it is getting better all the time..I once skied Heavenly, Tahoe and was kind of overcome with excitement. All the locals were saying the conditions were terrible and I thought it was the best I had ever seen.

Take Care and have a good weekend, my computer is at my busiuness so it will be Mon or so before I can get back to you....gregor

Bob, I agree with your synopsis on gold. Here is the counterpoint for those Christians who think that it will save them from some future calamity(Joseph was a special case, IMO).

Rev 13:
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Operative words..."no man"

Wouldn't it be nice if we were able to provide the basic necessities for our families and have whatever was left over to give away to those in need? I am ashamed that I have lived in pleasure while others has suffered in this world. Can God be unrighteous? I think not. Won't he allow us to join our true brothers and sisters in truly suffering for Christ one day?...and I don't mean that someone stole my surfboard or my car broke down or I lost some $ in the stock market...

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

Does that mean that if we haven't suffered we haven't ceased from sin? Sometimes God has to put sinners in prison to protect people. What's wrong with that?

Don't pick the parts out of the Bible that you like...digest it all...
My 7 year old son doesn't like eating his vegetables. But we keep feeding him yellow and orange anfd green vegetables.

DearBob:

A comment you made about the Lord saying all the gold and silver are His has stuck with me ; did you notice that what silver did the other day; up 47 cents an ounce.

The lord has really been dealing with me as well as you, apparently, the last few days.

I don't want this thread to ever sink to the level of touting individual stocks, but there are some very critical decisions that a lot of Christian investors will be making in the months ahead. I am still praying and see nothing wrong about counsel on interest rates, metals, stocks, bonds ect. and the general direction thereof in the months ahead.

Keep in touch, your input would be greatly appreciated....gregor
