Gene C. You said. ""for the market to tell you what it is going to do" ONE OF THE FUNNIEST STATEMENTS I EVER HEARD!!!! HEHE"

I don't think I made that statement in the post to which you are replying. However, I have made it before. As all technicians are aware there are times that one of two actions, up or down, have nearly equal evidence to support them. IMO it is at these times the prudent action to take is to step aside until the arbiter of all things, price, reveals the direction of the next move. Direction is important. Trend is important. At certain inflection points the market will, by its action, reveal the trend it will likely take in the future..
I find it interesting that this is one of funniest statements you have ever heard. It seems to be a fairly common consideration among those who trade the markets consistently.
I think I have heard statements that are much funnier. Perhaps you could explain why you think this is one of the funniest you have ever heard.
