Doing business anywhere is never without difficulty. Try developing a gold mine in British Columbia or the Hunter Valley of Eastern Austraia or thought be forbidden a uranium mine anywhere in the western world.

I was recently asked at a conference in Toronto - "what problems have you had operating in Kazaksta" I was a little taken aback by the directness of the question. I really had to think and phoned Robert Bell CEO to see if he could highlight any major problems. We have operated in the country with remarkable easy - and much of the credit can go to our local staff in kazakstan.

We imported an RC rig in a russian transport plane in 1995 and cleared customsin a couple of hours and commenced drilling the next day
We completed 40,000 metres of drilling and detailed techncial studies without difficulty
We set up many companies and local bank acocunts and employ a large number of local professional and support staff without difficulaty
We export on a weekly basis samples for assay and met testwork without difficulaty
We have applied for and obtained large propoerty holdings without difficulty
We have negotiated one of the best sub-soil use agreements in the country and recently obtained confirmation of our contractural right to export gold dore without difficulty
We obtained preliminary permitting for the earthworks at Mizek which have now largely completed without difficulty
We are very advanced on obtaining final permitting on Mizek and have already obtained most of the relevant permits- subject to final detailed design approval.
We have attracted the interest of major international banks in providing project fiannce without difficulty

We do not anticipate great difficulty in developing the Mizek heap leach operation. The governemnet officilas have been very supportive of the company and the project and we expect that they will continue to act so during and after construction.

We operate in the country with ease. Again I would suggest that operating any business takes dedicated people with skill and persistence but the result is a seemless business operation from the outside- as it should be. Shareholders never see the effort that goes into the daily management of a company of this size. You always have problems, challenges and regulation to contend with anywhere in the world but these are simply overcome in course of business and you have these anywhere in the world.

Our committment to this company is absolute- and I speak for all of our staff - all 60- of them.

Our biggest challenge is the market perception here in north america. Who am I to agrue that the market is wrong - but it is our contention that the perception will change through the actions of companies like Steppe Gold
