Well Eric, the author of the first chart, the link you provided has this info. It claims a current cost of $0.74 per watt of capacity. Another interesting cost estimate. It has been my experience in doing genuine engineering designs that capacity is far far less than the actual number of watts needed for any given capacity.

The comparison shows quite clearly that the cost effectiveness of solar power is increasing exponentially. In 1977, solar cells cost upwards of $70 per Watt of capacity. In 2013, that cost has dropped to $0.74 per Watt, a 100:1 improvement (source: The Economist). medium.com
