CNBC discussed Dirks and Abelson of Barrons. Laughed at Abelson for being a bear for the last 10 years.

Also made it a point to say that you would have been hurt following Dirks and others who tried to short CNC the last few years. Here is CNC's response to Abelson's mention of Dirks in Barrons:

>Conseco Responds to Barron's Article
Carmel, Ind.: Dec. 8, 1997 - In response to an article in today's
edition of Barron's, Conseco, Inc. (NYSE:CNC) today reiterated the
following:
The statements cited in Barron's emanate from an individual who (as
previously announced) issued a negative report on Conseco last Spring
after the company refused his demand for a $4.7 million "finder's" fee
for an acquisition the company "found" without his help. His claim is in
litigation.
Conseco officers and directors, in the open market, purchased 4 million
shares of the company's common stock between August and October of this
year. Officers and directors also purchased 4 million shares of common
stock in the open market during 1996. Employees now own or control
nearly one-fourth of all fully diluted shares.
Conseco is a financial services organization headquartered in Carmel,
Ind. Through its subsidiaries, Conseco is one of the nation's leading
providers of supplemental health insurance, retirement annuities and
universal life insurance.
