I don't think negro is offensive. The largest black charity has the word in its name. African American is simply too long to say or type...

It's not banned but it is not considered to be in good taste..... Another example.....the word Chinaman is considered to be a slur by Chinese people... I imagine "hill billy" gets a similar response in Arkansas... What slur is common in Arkansas, negro, nigra, or nigger....?
