The veneration of relics was found a simple human tendency very much the same in Buddhism before & Christianity after, this is a simple observation of what characterizes all belief systems that do degenerate into superstition as a form of worship. If you can't handle the truth, stay out of history's kitchen, these are relatively harmless until they also become dangerous in the minds of extremists.(possibly like yourself) Superstition is very Darwinistic, the human psyche is still evolving too from more primitive subjective states into more realistic & rational states.
