Yeah, liberals are very biased about people out in the American heartland. They know there are only tiny enclaves of the country where they feel comfortable.

And doesn't need much in the way of culture, education, the arts, etc. Virginia has a couple of good enclaves but most of the state is a zero for that. The others, can't see much.

IMO, some parts of Oregon are too churchy and winger - especially southern. If you go far from the Urban Cores by more than about 50% of the city radius this phenomenon is true of most states (including CA). Fortunately, I live in one of the California wine appellations and work 10 miles from where I live at a tech company. I can see the Milky Way when the sky is clear - most nights. However, if I drive into the Central Valley, the effects of the Dust Bowl migration of southerners has created a chuchy / winger culture. Stay along the coast and near big cities, it's fine. Go into the foothills and valleys - you might as well be in Oklahoma, Utah or Idaho.

Those areas of the deep south are just modern day "Deliverance" types. We have an astounding amount of ignorance in our population. The republican party made a concerted effort to recruit these cretins to their base, their "southern strategy" has paid off for them and hurt the rest of the country immeasurably. MP

Whole south is stupid.

Every single county in Oklahoma voted for Mitt. Most of my relatives (mom one of 12 kids) lives in Oklahoma and I haven't talked to any of them in over 40 years.

Racists.

Every county in Mississippi is still against interracial marriaqe.

Those are staggeringly stupid people and it seems to be the whole state-lol.

Just how bad do the Republican candidates need to be to lose to a man of mixed race in a country of bigots?

"They were just lower class whites, who originally came from the central valley."

A-ha... Okies

"They were also morons."
Part of the OKIE job description.
