The only fly in the ointment is just how negative will the 4th quarter be? They did mention that they don't expect a great 4th quarter in the 10Q.

Can somebody with connections get a better handle on how much we are going to be disappointed by the 4th quarter numbers?

Perhaps the price already reflects the expected numbers. It would behoove us to get the information of the degree of negativity to expect.

Maybe they meant that they won't repeat the 6 cents they earned 4Q '96? If so, then it ain't so bad.

(Some crazy talk)

On the subject of Intel......It would appear as though Intel has nothing in the foreseeable future to compete with IBM's XRL. To many of us it would appear as though their stranglehold on the business may be coming to an end within the next few years unless they roll out EUV quickly. By all info out there, including their own, EUV won't be ready for at least 5 years and possibly much longer. How will they remain competitive unless they adapt to this challenge quickly? We know these are very smart business people, so what can they be planning on? Do you think JMAR or another XRL company could be a takeover target? We could rule out an IBM takeover, but who's left? JMAR may be the easiest target and their XRL may be the furthest along. I'm curious what you (or anyone else) think.
