Well, I understand others having a different view (my wife for one). I just see an extreme level of incompetence and I think "planning" to destroy our economy is pretty far beyond his capability and I question whether his advisers would be complicit.

It stems from a fundamental misunderstanding about government's role. They think government can create productivity out of thin air, which is of course, nonsense. And they don't comprehend that in almost all cases, government regulation is inferior to that which can be obtained by letting markets handle it.

You can provide the proof time and again and they still won't get it. There is a missing chunk of brain or something that prevents them from understanding how most of our problems today are a result of government intervention (or unions, which themselves are a result of government intervention).

I think it is what happens when you elect a president who has no meaningful accomplishment to his name.

Yeah, shutting down Gibson to extort money, blocking the Keystone XL pipeline for four years, setting the EPA after coal industry, expanding welfare/unemployment/EBT(straight out of Cloward-Piven), chasing drillers out of the Gulf, wasting $800 billion on stimulus that directly went shore up public union pensions, trying his damndest to RAISE TAXES when HE HIMSELF said it would hurt the economy and still wanting to raise them again, etc., etc...

I don't think it is possible to do this much harm without really, really trying.

Just thought it needed to be repeated.
