Jim, DELL closed at approximately $94 on Friday, a $17 run over the last 3 weeks. We can
probably expect the run to continue this week but come December 15,
options expirations week, anything can happen.

December 22 through January 5 should be relatively quiet as holidays will
reduce trading volume substantially. We should expect some minor price
deterioration through this period, however.

January 5, 1998 brings us back to the action with earnings period. CPQ's
numbers should tell us what's happening to their much vaunted BTO
system. I agree with you that Q4 results are still too soon to tell but we
may get a surprise from CPQ in their conference call. If they see problems
& have to take corrective action they may issue a warning re. Q1.
