If you are comparing all of Google's monetizing of mobile users to Apple's iAd only? What kind of comparison is that?

So, it looks to me like we were talking about iOS vs. Android and how iOS was more profitable than Android even with a smaller market share which was my point to begin with.
You're confusing the question of which user base (iOS users vs Android) generates more revenue with which ad platform (iAd vs Google) is more efficient at generating that revenue.

iOS users are generally higher income and they are more aggressive in searching, shopping, consuming data. Therefore, even though there are fewer of them, they generate more revenue (for now - the gap is closing) because they are more likely to click and spend.

Regardless of which platform the user is on, the ad platform that milks more ad revenue per user/minute is Google by far. Apple keeps all revenue from iAd, but it makes much less than Google's system would if in its place. Even though Apple would need to revshare with Google, a smaller portion of a larger pie can still yield more pie.

This is what Jerry Yang was attempting to do with Yahoo before regulators interfered and ended up killing his efforts. He knew that Google could boost Yahoo's revenue drastically, which is why he rejected MSFT's offer (he thought they'd be worth much more once in bed with Google), but he didn't expect the government to kill the deal.

It's directly relevant to your false claim that "mobile advertising is more profitable to Apple than it is to Google." That's not even remotely true. The data in your link does nothing to prove it. Apple makes millions from mobile advertising, Google makes billions.

Google lost their prime spot on Maps. They fiddled with Youtube. Now, what if Apple simply changes the default browser from Google to Yahoo?

Apple could do that, and that is why Android is so vital to Google, strategically. In a world without Android, Apple gets to hold Google over a barrel. With Android as a viable alternative, Apple has to at least pretend to do what's best for their users.
